@Eddietg42 Parklife, to my mind, is an album that deserves more than it’s given.

I’ve seen it written off as a pastiche of earlier work, and a sop to Blairite Cool Britannia and sure, that’s valid if you base it purely on the title track. Or if you were a tabloid hack whose editor threw the CD at your head one day and demanded a review.

Go a tiny bit deeper and you could perhaps put it in the same cardboard box as Sergeant Pepper, a concept album that didn’t quite adhere to its concept.

Go properly *in* though and you find an album that actually fits the zeitgeist.

And which contains several tracks that I copped off to in the mid-to-late 90s

@Eddietg42 of course, if you’d mentioned the _first_ Placebo album… well, I’ve broken furniture to that.
@drunkenmadman got to see them (Placebo ) in concert a year ago

@Eddietg42 Isaw them sometime in the mid-ish 90s at Newport Centre.

Got my glasses smashed in the moshpit, consequently missed my connecting train from Cardiff and didn’t get home until about 10am the next day
