Two takeaways here. If there had been any justice in the world 60 to 70% of the Hall of fame would be Black. But I think we all already knew that. Second takeaway: Larry Walker basically the only white dude at the Hits table. Kind of like Ted Williams and Harry Walker in my league...or.Larry Bird in the real world NBA

Baseball hasn’t marketed itself well and there certainly isn’t the same kind of life changing money that can be found in basketball or football. Reflecting on the 80’s, 90’s though I’d would say I had more black baseball heroes than white. Kirby, Griffey, Rickey, Frank Thomas were electric.

When I first started paying attention (1972), it was Reggie (odd that he gets only a first name in my memory), Vida (ditto) Aaron, Clemente, Morgan, Dick Allen, and Carew. The only white guys in that pantheon, for me anyway, were Rudi, Steve Carlton, Catfish (ditto) and Tom Seaver. But most of the guys I considered superstars at age 11 were black.
