#NationalRiskAssessment
#Ireland

If you live in Ireland, you are far more likely to be harmed by experiencing poverty and social exclusion - scarcely mentioned here - than by international terrorism, someone cutting our undersea cables, or by the War on Ukraine.

These so-called "risks to Ireland" are primarily "risks to rich people's money". Not quite the same thing, even in a capitalist world.

The core media messages are:
- be afraid of foreigners
- join NATO

Not mentioned at all-

-the fact that the only agency known to have destroyed international seabed infrastructure was a NATO ally (Ukraine blowing up the gas pipeline to Europe off the coast of Sweden)

-the 100% risk that your government is facilitating war and genocide by allowing US warplanes to land in Shannon and weapons to pass through without the legally required inspections.

-there's no link to the report itself, which was not straightforward to find online: https://www.gov.ie/en/press-release/3da9e-tanaiste-publishes-results-of-national-risk-assessment-2023/

@AidanK that's not about what/who is threatening you, is about making you feel threatened so that you won't pay much attention to all the crap they're pushing forward.
