Here's an X-Bow inspired rocket ship. The main rockets are to the sides of the bridge, kept above the water.

It lands by dipping its tail in and then flopping forward onto the water.

During launch the angle of the rockets lifts up the nose before the vessel fully emerges from the water.

Innovative design!

@nyrath I was inspired by the latest and greatest in lunar landers, of course. ;)

@isaackuo

Ummm, are you referring to Krafft Ehricke's utterly insane Lunar Slider?

Let's do a belly-flop slip-n-slide onto the razor-sharp lunar regiolith!

@nyrath No, I just mean SLIM and Odysseus, the two latest lunar landers.

(SLIM belly flopped on purpose, although that didn't go entirely according to plan, and Odysseus tipped over without being designed to do that.)

@isaackuo I'd be willing to invest $1B into the building of that spaceship as long as it was promised that every time it did water takeoff attempt that the theme music from 80's Miami Vice would play
