@Pineywoozle @davidaugust My first teaching job (UK, 1974) school uniform for girls included a skirt, no trousers. Then we got an influx of Muslim girls and their parents objected. So they were allowed trousers and a load of white parents complained about discrimination so the school was over-ruled by the education authority. Then a few female teachers wore trousers and were reprimanded and sent home to change. They wrote to the authority. Eventually the headmaster resigned. Over trousers!
