3. Nicola Cannon & Mark Horton of Royal Agricultural University, & Olena Melnyk at ETH Zurich / Sumy NAU. Ukraine is a bread basket due to black earth soil, but fields have been affected by craters and contamination. Some areas in France affected by WWI are still not back in agricultural use.

5. Long-standing link of Sheffield, represented by Vania Sena, & Kyiv Polytechnic University moved to 'building back better' with entrepreneurs. Links Ukraine's Sikorsky Challenge to international partners, focus on best practice for startups, esp. getting VC funds & training/mentoring founders. Supported 46 teams, with science colleagues to understand tech (e.g., medical, educational, nuclear waste); picked 10 to coach to pitch to UK investors.

6. Dana Ofiteru at Newcastle University on PEACE-R2UK that involves NUWEE in Rivne in east Ukraine in hydro projects, e.g. power and water quality, to create resilient water management.

Gender balance, visas, and language were barriers. Created peer-assisted language programmes, with cultural issues of full professors accepting being taught by students! Also involved partners in Krakow, Poland.

7. DISCO! Olena Pozniakova at Lviv Polytechnic National University on digital innovation project training 1000 students, 150 staff, and startups in IT and entrepreneurship. Includes retraining and career changes for women, esp. those whose partners are in the military.
