If you wanted Affinity Photo/Designer/Publisher, grab a perpetual license now before Canva inevitably converts it to a subscription model…

@conigs A "perpetual license"? I am assuming you won't be able to get a license for any future versions that get released.

I have a license for V2 and I'll use that until I cannot anymore, and spend some time looking for an alternative.

@rasterweb perpetual as in pay once and keep using that version… not on the promise of any future major updates

@conigs Gotcha. I probably have a list of software that I "bought once" and worked until... it didn't. Either the company making the system software broke it in updates to the OS or changes in processor architecture. Sadly software only lasts forever if you never change your hardware.

I did buy Photoshop once and use for over a decade without issue. I think I did one minor paid upgrade along the way... Still a hell of a lot cheaper than a subscription!

@conigs The funny thing is I remember an Adobe guy telling me right when the subscriptions happened that I should subscribe and get *all these new features!* but honestly I don't need them.

I need something simple to do basic conversion of RAW still images and simple editing. That's it. Which is why I liked Affinity Photo. No subscription, no AI bullshit, just simple functional software.
