Random reminder: You don't grow the economy through trickle down economics.

You grow the economy by investing in workers: their education, health care, child care, transportation, and job training.

@rbreich Investing in people is not novel and not socialism. The #GOP has convinced this country that any spending that's not security/military or tax incentives for corporations is unethical. It's awful 😖
@rbreich I heard it was Bridget Bardot, Sophia Loren.
@rbreich
How dare you bust the Republican myth that they put out there day after day. Even after it has been proven wrong, time and time again, they still push it because they know enough people will buy into it...
@rbreich Sir I believe that the London School of Economics has done a study that trickle down does not work. Please reference studies concerning trickle down as false theory of economic success .
@rbreich waaaait. but then how are the rich stored to get more rich?
@rbreich In the 80s I bought into trickle down economic theory. 40 years later it's obvious it's only a theory. In practice it just doesn't work.
@rbreich il faudrait expliquer ça à nos génies au gouvernement français..
@rbreich Of course. You don't grow trees from the top either.
@rbreich we should "invest" in education, health care, housing and infrastructures because it's the Right Thing To Do. The economic growing is the consequence, not the driver.
@rbreich it also helps to let people immigrate so you have more workers and consumers
@rbreich While I agree that investing in workers, education and healthcare are undeniably good things, I think we need to question the limits of how far economies can grow on a finite planet. And whether other economic models would be more conducive to long-term stability.
@rbreich California’s economy gushed pre1975 when University of California was nearly free and grads made silicon valley!
@rbreich upper management at NBCUniversal has been repeatedly sticking its foot in piles of shit this past year. When are the shareholders going to do something about it?
