If you're not registered to vote in the UK, you have until 16th April to do so in order to vote in the May local elections. You can register online. You have until 17th April to apply for a postal vote. You can do the applications online. All you need is your National Insurance number. However, there will be some manual forms to fill in and submit after your initial application.

Don't delay. Do it today.

It MADDENS me that many of the radio/podcast ads calling on people to register to vote DON’T EXPLAIN WHY.

I suspect many people who have voted before (without ID) may think registration *doesn’t* apply to them.

A bit crap.

@junesim63 I always think these ‘register to vote’ schemes are an anti-democratic hurdle. In the Netherlands the government simply assumes you want to vote and you get a voting card sent in by post.

@junesim63 and remember you now need photo ID to vote in person.

Old people's bus passes are valid, but young people's aren't. No idea why that could be! 😉
