And if someone tries to tell you that "you're not a real fan" of something, then they don't like that thing, they like knowing more about that thing than other people.
But beware to like a thing without knowing everything in the authors/actors/producers biography and not being aware of all they say and do on a daily basis irl or on social media, ir what tgey did in tge past.
In that case: better not tell anybody in case you like the art of someone who is canceled. Cause you will be considered part if whatever problem they are part of.

@Jedigirl this reminds me I rarely hear things such as:
“I draw because I like it.”
“I play the piano because I like it.”
“I take pictures because I like it.”
There was a time when liking XYZ was reason enough for doing XYZ, and one did not have to master or excel at their hobbies or pastimes. At some point we stopped thinking about it that way.
