jesse jarnowand 30 years ago today, as a high school freshman, i attended my 1st #GratefulDead show, at nassau coliseum on long island, carried a damn boombox to my seat (with no hassles), & taped. i got a proper recording from the tapers' section soon thereafter, so this might be my 1st time listening. sounds awful! but reinforces my memory of the crowd being louder than the band. half thankful (but only half) that i can't make out the occasional talking that i think is my dad or me. #deadfreaksunite
damion@bourgwick I'd be interested to hear some if you'd care to upload it somewhere? I was never able to travel to see Garcia, but have always been interested in show takes that have an "unfiltered" audience experience!
@thatsdamion sorry, no, but there are lots of audience tapes at @internetarchive, including many extremely grotty ones that are far more enjoyable than this.
