George is getting ready to take a nap. I'll sneak over and try to clip his nails.

I clipped all of his front paws. He wasn't too thrilled about it, but it's done.

I think I'll go out and get him a new scratching post tonight. Scratching and slashing are things that cats do, and you have to accept it and give them an outlet. That said, George was also getting his claws stuck on things like blankets, so the occasional clipping is necessary.

He's got a cat perch, which had a column wrapped in jute twine. It's nearly torn up at this point, and I may try to get some new twine and rewrap it, but I think I'll get a second post anyways.

Cats seem to love that twine. My parents have some sort of woven bamboo wallpaper in one room of there house which has been a hit with their cats (not so much with George), much to their dismay.

The fuzzy carpet covering used on a lot of audio cabinets also seems to be a favorite for scratching.
