@arstechnica wow, and some drivers didn't even know the car uploaded data!
For comparison my Nissan asks every time you start it if you are OK with uploading data, to be compliant with UK law. Fairly sure it also can't be transferred to another party. (ironically Nissan are also turning that off, but that's due to 2g/3g switch off and they're cutting costs early on old models)
@sldrant The VW I have warns that it’s uploading stuff. I can reduce the data but I don’t see how I can turn it off entirely without finding the antenna and breaking it.
@nivrig I can accept or decline, though not sure quite what terms either are tbh.
