In these science fiction novels, love really is a battlefield

New novels by Natasha Pulley, Sierra Greer and James Goodhand tell heartbreakingly complex stories about romance and its discontents.

The Washington Post
In these books, a ballet dancer from Earth has an arranged marriage with a Martian politician. A robot girlfriend becomes smarter than her human boyfriend. And a man who keeps living his life out of order tries to fix the mistakes that hurt the love of his life.
@charliejane I wanted these all to be one book 😁 ! Thank you for the recommendations and the gift link!
@charliejane @washingtonpost Nice review article! I'm intrigued by "The Mars House" and will add it to my list.
Your book reviews are one of my favorite parts of my WaPo sub.
@SkylarkDuquesne @washingtonpost Thank you so much! That's really lovely to hear <3
@charliejane Have you read any of Natasha Pulley’s other books? The Watchmaker of Filigree Street is remarkable.
@ianRobinson Fraid not... but now I'm really dying to!
@charliejane It's superb, as is the follow-up, The Lost Future of Pepperharrow. Her novel The Bedlam Stacks is in the same “universe” but has different characters on a separate storyline.
