@AliceStollmeyer we see it in the little things, too. Like credulous policymakers and billionaires saying “Ukraine can’t defeat russia” when they absolutely could, if we gave them enough ammo and support.

@stefankrueger , are you an inhabitant or citizen of the European Union? Would you care for a 🇪🇺 deeper and persistent discussion about how 🇪🇺 should react to the Russion information war? It seems to me, that you and I share the understanding of the problem. You seem to know, what do about it. I don't see a solution.

@annekekassteele :-) you are one step ahead of me. I even don't see what I would write to our politicians. For me, the free information space is one of fundamental #ValuesEU . And free means free for agents I don't agree with. Also goverment involvement in education / propaganda goes against #ValuesEU 🤷

@abolitionniste I’m not quite sure if freedom means no involvement at all; if hate speech (like the right-wing-politicans now use) is meant, I don’t agree. Sometimes you have to say…stop, no further.

@annekekassteele @abolitionniste @stefankrueger That creates paradoxa. No government an legal involvement where other, non governmental groups permanently take influence to hold others small and deprive them from the benefits of common property and work is not freedom. It's absence oft justice.

I believe that we have plurality of #ValuesEU and these restrict each other. Freedom of conscience, freedom of expression, freedom to protest, justice, social justice, cognitive justice, moderation, tolerance... And in that beautiful, complex and living structure I don't see a way "to defend ourselves with effective countermeasures". I recognize the Russian attack, but what to do? Genuine question.
