This wildflower in the genus Anemone has no official species name because it's an undescribed species. I hope to remedy that soon. Its occurrence is limited to north-facing slopes on the rolling plains grasslands of north-central Texas, western Oklahoma, and southwestern Kansas. It comes in two color morphs--white and deep purple (with purple being very uncommon). It has several unique characteristics, being very fuzzy is one of them--so I shall call it Anemone pilosa.

@rspfau I have a plant or two in my area that seem to be only located in a very small plot that I think may also be undescribed. How can I find out?

@heretical_1 You might have some success by posting it on https://www.iNaturalist.org

That's what led me to realize this was an undescribed species.
