🚨We have a new paper out 🚨 with Media International Australia lead by Amelia Johns and with Emily Booth and Marian-Andrei Rizoiu. This paper evaluates the efficacy of Meta's content moderation on Facebook during COVID-19 by analysing engagement metrics and content from 18 Australian right-wing/anti-vaccination pages from January 2019 to July 2021, revealing that while some high-performing pages declined, others thrived, demonstrating the inconsistent nature of a strategy of content containment.
