So, after multiple messages and calls with the hospital to confirm my surgery for the 10th April, they've sent me a letter telling me that my admission date is 17th April.

@mees - I don't know because if the date was changed I'd have thought the letter would acknowledge that. It just says my admission date is the 17th.. I'm going to have to call on Monday and clarify what happened.
