New to Lemmy. Why did you choose Lemmy when there are bigger alternatives such as 4chan and reddit. - Lemmy.World

Just left reddit because I got tired of moderation and I do not agree with political views over all. I never tried 4chan because I heard it’s messed up and supposedly inject maleware on visitors like porn sites do. As a person new to Lemmy, I just wanna know why you chose here and what you like/ dislike about there.

I left reddit for Lemmy because 4chan, twitter, Facebook, etc are most assuredly not alternatives to reddit in the sense I am looking for. The only other alternative I might have chosen was Tildes, but it was (and still is afaik) invite only.

I like this format over any other besides maybe a good ol’ fashioned forum (like PHPBB).
