@amgine after my brief survey - I'm not sure they publish the spawn reports on the website but I could be wrong.

No, unfortunately. The kids went up north island a few days before me, and did not see anything except fishing boats - but it was raining and cloudy. I went up after seeing some pics near Parksville, but of course by that time the action was all over.
I will try to plan better for next year.
@amgine it's hard to plan - some people have had success by being dialed in to a Comox Valley Facebook chat group and then dropping everything. I tend to like my nature moments serendipitous. Also - it looks more spectacular from a drone ;-)
