(There are many reasons this is a bad idea. Including Apple for one won't give us macOS with non-App store app loading).
BoxOfSnoo@arstechnica I’ve been looking for a good ultrabook. If they came out with a Mac/iPad 2-in-1 I would jump at it. My 2020 Air is good enough for all that iOS offers.

D1g1talDrag0n@arstechnica I still need an iPhone “ultra” that runs an “M” series chip and switches to MacOS when docked to a usb hub where I can connect a monitor, keyboard and mouse.
This will be my next iPhone purchase.
Nevyn Bengtsson@arstechnica The iPad Pro is such an amazing piece of computing hardware, and I can't find anything else to match it, Mac or Linux or Android. However, iOS makes it basically impossible to do actual programming work on without remoting to some other machine. So frustrating, made me give up on iOS. macOS on it would be perfect!!
