I'm kinda sad to hear about the #yuzuemulator folks getting curb stomped by Nintendo.

It was a clean room implementation so they should have been safe.

Kind of a pity they decided to put their work behind a Patreon paywall.

I'm NOT suggesting they don't deserve to be compensated, but it definitely does give the pointy hairs and the swarming ARMY of Nintendo hired lawyers a claw-hold up that they otherwise wouldn't have had.

@feoh Trouble with Yuzu is that they did stupid things; they received money for development, they gave very detailed explainers on how to clone your Switch, offered access to current games again for a cost and there's also giving people easy access to BotW before it was out.

I don't have too much sympathy for them, they were doing good work but just in the worst "hey, come sue us" way.

@nini @feoh yeah that's the stuff that did it in the end I would think
@nini One can only hope that the other Switch emulator projects will take a lesson and work smarter / keep their heads down and maybe not get sued :\
@nini @feoh As I understand it, Yuzu are quite heavily blacklisted by the hacker community writ large, and after this whole case I get why. Absolutely dodgy practices up the wazoo.
