Located on the campus of Towson, Maryland’s Townson University, the Harold J. Kaplan Concert Hall is the largest venue on site and can seat 500. It’s home to a 1973 Opus pipe organ with over 2,300 pipes that is built into the walls of the concert hall.

The Frankfort Radio Symphony’s Alte Oper was built in 1873 by Philipp Holzmann and rebuilt and reopened in 1981 after it had been nearly demolished by air raids during WWII. It hosts 2 halls that seat over 1,400 people combined and a pipe organ that is known for its power.

Vézelay Abbey is a Benedictine and Cluniac monastery in Burgundy, France. It was established sometime in the 9th century In 1979 it was added to UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites. It was discovered that the abbey was built in a way that at midday during solstices sunlight creates paths of light throughout the abbey. There is a pipe organ onsite but it was added in the 1990s.

Garrison Church is located in Copenhagen, Denmark and was originally built for military personnel in the 18th century. The Romantic composer Johan Peter Emilius Hartmann (husband of composer Emma Hartmann) is buried on the grounds of the church. It has a gorgeous 45 register Orgelbyggeri pipe organ that has 2,861 pipes that are tuned in a historical tuning that while more limited in range are incredibly tonally evocative😍

Westminster United Church is a gothic style located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It was originally opened in 1892 and officially became the “United Church” in 1925 when three local denominations formed a union. In honor of its centennial anniversary in 1992 it was designated as a Provincial Heritage Building. In addition to beautiful stained glass it also features a Casavant pipe organ that is one of the three largest pipe organs in the province.

The Johanneskirche AKA Church of St. John is a Roman Catholic church located in Freiburg im Breisgau, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. First Parish Cambridge is a Unitarian Universalist Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The church has a storied 400yr history of various spiritual and congregational changes. The Seoul Arts Center is an arts complex in Seocho District, Seoul, South Korea. It it comprised of five main buildings: the Opera House (with three auditoriums), the Music Hall (with two concert halls), the Hangaram Art Museum, the Hangaram Design Museum, and the Seoul Calligraphy Art Museum. The Music Hall was completed in 1988 and its concert hall can seat 2,523 people while the recital hall is more intimate with seating for only 354. The Seoul Arts Center has no pipe organ💔

Església de Sant Andreu in Santanyí, Spain was completed in 1811. It’s an exceptionally unique building in that it’s built out of special sandstones from Santanyí. It’s known for its bell tower and for its massive altarpiece. The altarpiece and exquisite, 2 manual Jordi Bosch- designed pipe organ were brought to Santanyí after the minister Mendizábal ordered the monastery’s property seized😱 The pipe organ was so large, that the church had to be redesigned to accommodate it!

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity was established in 1904 in NYC. It’s known for its beautiful altar, gorgeous pipe organs and the Bach Vespers series (https://www.holytrinitynyc.org/bach-vespers) which began in 1968. It’s the first instance in The USA where the Bach Cantatas can be heard on their appointed day in the context of the liturgical calendar performed by a professional Bach Choir. Also, the church was featured in the 1984 film “Ghostbusters”!

Smetana hall is located in The Municipal House AKA Obecní dům in Prague. The exterior of this Art Nouveau building features artwork inspired by Czech sculptor Ladislav Šaloun. It can seat 1,259 and has a Tucek pipe organ at center stage.

Schuilkerk De Hoop AKA “The Clandestine Church of Hope” in Amsterdam was built in 1786. Its unique non-ostentatious aesthetic is that due to anti-catholic sentiments church could not be recognisable as a traditional catholic religious institution. By the 20th century the church had fallen into disuse and became a local music school and community arts space- which it has since remained.

Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow, Russia was established in 1940 and with seating for 1,505 it’s considered one of the largest concert halls in Russia. With 81 stops, 7, 800 pipe and weighing over 480lbs, the hall’s Reiger-Kloss Pipe Organ is one of the largest in Russia and was inaugurated in the mid-1950s and features a unique blend of voices in its workings that make it considered a national treasure.

It was Established in 1897, averages over 500,000 yearly visitors and due its’ architecture being noted for wonderful acoustics it often hosts concerts in the auditorium and the exhibition halls.

Mariager Abbey in Mariager, Denmark was founded in 1430 as an abbey for a monastic religious order of the Catholic Church, today it’s also partially converted into a registry office and charitable institution.
