It's fascinating how quick we are to assign value based on pay, yet slow to recognize the immense contribution of caretakers, artists, and volunteers. What if we flipped the script? Universal Basic Income isn't just about money—it's about valuing all forms of work, paid or not.

Spot on! Most of the “work” that it takes to make a family, community, or society function cannot be monetized.

Let’s provide for the basics for everyone and get back to living. And let’s stop trying to monetize everything.

Most people can recognise a job making a useful and valuable contribution to society, even if its not paid all that well.

The pay for a job is based on supply and demand, not 'value' to wider society.

If a job require a very high IQ or very specific skill set, the supply of candidates will be low. If a job is very dangerous or just plain unpleasant the demand will be low.

If you do a very dangerous job that also requires a high IQ you will be paid very well.
