I want to love #PolyendTracker, I've published music made with it already, but it's becoming harder and harder. It's one of the best pieces of hardware that I own for sequencing anything that has any semblance of rhythm, but sequencing ambient stuff becomes unnecessarily complicated. Never mind occasional crashes that I hope are easier to fix, sample library management and sound design are the weakest spots in my opinion. There's no sample library for that matter, just a read-only file viewer.
So here I am with gigabytes of samples on my SD card, but with no ability to search, filter, or categorize them directly on #PolyendTracker. And any rhythmic samples quickly become useless as soon as you have non-trivial BPM, good luck trying to stretch or squeeze the sample for your track directly on the device.
Of course there's no ideal hardware that can do everything, but at least if you're designing a sample-based device, make sure that sample management and editing is effortless.
