Here's the story: Last week, X partially reinstated its deadnaming policy, this time saying that it would reduce the visibility of posts that misgendered or deadnamed a person “purposefully.” It wouldn't remove them.

Right-wingers, like Libs of TikTok and Tim Pool, frantically tweeted Elon Musk to reverse the policy. So today, the policy has been updated to only apply in jurisdictions where it is required by law.
