Engineer Dr Hugh H. perfectly recreated the famous WWII bouncing bomb to blow up a specially constructed dam in Canada
@stux I remember watching a documentary about that. It's awesome. The amount of science, creative thinking and problem solving behind the original bombing is nothing short of genius. (perhaps the only time I could give credibility about anything to with explosives)

@Shredd_Tone Oooh do you have the name of that doc? I'm quite impressed by this feat indeed!

Esp in that time

@stux I'd really loves to share that with you, but it's been ages ago and I can't remember the name unfortunately. I can only recall that it's a Channel 4 (UK) documentary.

But I'll try and look for it for you

@stux They need something like this for the #KerchBridge pylons. I believe this was on NOVA in US and Horizon in UK. Maybe a drone swarm.

Bombing Hitler's Dams

Experts recreate the bold feat of "dambuster" pilots who used bouncing bombs to destroy two key German dams in WWII.

@stux

It was an amazing feat, and as a child I was an avid fan of inventor and engineer Barnes Wallace, particularly his work on jet plane designs, e.g. the Swallow swing wing jet.

But my thoughts nowadays are with the poor civilians who lost their lives.

Behind the glamour and excitement of these war machines is the belief that some people deserve to survive, thrive, and be happy more than others.
