Always have been! Superman (Kal-El) and the death of planet Krypton were certainly on point for humanity ignoring the scientists. And MAD comics were my favorites until they outlawed them in 1954. (sigh. I had them all, but my mother threw them away when we moved to England. sigh. They would have been worth a fortune today.
