on my amateur coding journey, i have been hacking away at my smart jobs scraper
i am at a point where i have totals for the different agencies and a count of those ads which mention temporary and permanent
any suggestions on useful or insightful statistics to pull out of a snapshot of advertised jobs?
@thom Length of ads, with a possible focus on what type of ad typically makes it into the 5th or 95th percentile (if indeed there is any pattern at all)?
@spacefinner hmm i wonder how i would find that. at the moment this is an example of the data I am working with

@thom Fair; I wasn't sure what you had access to.

Another thing that's new and maybe possible to track with this dataset is Flexible Work, assuming "flexible" is a decent proxy for "you can do some work at home". What's the uptake like now? How many jobs are flexible and what percentage of the job market is it? Are they typically lower grades? Etc.

@spacefinner yeah! I think "flexible" in the type field means the option of doing <1 FTE, would be a good one to have a look at
@thom It's not really a term I remember seeing pre-pandemic so I reckon it could do with investigation!
