Here is George Clooney’s response after Trump accused him of being a "Hollywood elite." "Here’s the thing: I grew up in Kentucky. I sold insurance door-to-door. I sold ladies’ shoes. I worked at an all-night liquor store. I would buy suits that were too big and too long and cut the bottom of the pants off to make ties so I’d have a tie to go on job interviews. This guy who takes a shit in a gold toilet is somehow the man of the people is laughable.

@elfunrokr I'm not super religious, but can I hear an Amen?
@elfunrokr
Can we talk about the Yankee rich kid pretending to be a good ol boy who loves the Confederacy?

@space_wrangler @elfunrokr or the sociopathic atheist pretending to be an evangelical

The way that the internet has twisted people's minds to ignore reality is probably the most depressing part of all of it

Was Donald Trump America's First Atheist President?

Former President Donald Trump's cardinal virtues appear to extend to the accumulation of wealth and fame. This is consistent with many non-religious Americans—compared to evangelicals—who tend to find meaning in their lives through finances.

@elfunrokr True story… who ever votes Trump, votes a golden turd 💩 That turd is not a self made man but a spoiled rich kid that never done some hard labor. He never learned, that’s why he is a danger because he would do what ever it takes to keep his immoral live. Think about it…
@elfunrokr 👏👏👏 Truthfully analyzed! The only time Trump could theoretically win the popular vote would be, if he & his complicit electoral fraud GOP professionals succeeded suppressing at least 70% of eligible voters.
@elfunrokr Trump tried sooooo hard to become a Hollywood elite. If they'd accepted him he might never have gone into politics.
@elfunrokr @Nazani Trump was always Moscow’s creature. Whatever he did they were going to use it against America. And if not him, they had others.
@Nazani @elfunrokr Just like some people should have been permitted to go to art school?

@elfunrokr That’s a tweaked excerpt of what Clooney actually said, during an interview back in 2017. The full quote is better.

Did George Clooney Slam Trump and His Talk of a 'Hollywood Elite'?

In late 2020, the world-famous actor and director was quoted as calling the outgoing president a "guy who takes a s--- in a gold toilet."

@dsilverman @elfunrokr
If George Clooney ran for President of the USA he would win against either of the two current candidates.
@zl2tod @dsilverman @elfunrokr Which would show that again the USA is full of people who would rather vote for someone they like rather than someone who would do a good job. It's only a mercy they don't vote for their bosses.

Aquí está la respuesta de George Clooney después de que Trump lo acusara de ser una "élite de Hollywood". "Esta es la cuestión: crecí en Kentucky. Vendía seguros puerta a puerta. Vendía zapatos de mujer. Trabajé en una licorería abierta toda la noche. Compraba trajes que eran demasiado grandes y demasiado largos y cortaba la parte inferior de los pantalones para hacer corbatas y tener corbata para ir a entrevistas de trabajo. Este tipo que caga en un retrete de oro es de alguna manera el hombre del pueblo.., es ridículo.

Represent Maysville! 😃

@elfunrokr
I seriously have talked with people that George Clooney should run for President and win the Democratic nomination.

Not likely to happen. But given we're now in a timeline where celebrities without elective office experience can win, he'd be a great choice. Well known and well loved, very intelligent and informed, has done important rights work. Plus he's married to a brilliant human rights lawyer.

@GottaLaff

@markxs That is beyond unrealistic. A fantasy. But he is amazing. @elfunrokr

@elfunrokr @markxs @GottaLaff

George is both too smart to fall for the trap, and too ethical to make the compromises likely necessary to win the election in today's climate. Which is a pity because I expect he'd do a great job.

@elfunrokr
It's all a mistake. TFG meant he's a "man of the peep-hole."
@elfunrokr Indeed “Old Camel Toe Neck” is a real man of the people!
@elfunrokr
Exactly. A guy who inspires people to spread feces in a public building is human scum.
@elfunrokr
Hooray...but one question for George; Where in the f*ck is that Jim Jordan documentary you promised to be "releasing very soon" in...*checks notes*...February of 2022??
@elfunrokr if that statement of Clooney is true: I always joked how bad the news were the day he announced marriage and now am glad he confirms again that the grain of truth in that joke - that I sort of like him - is justified. He doesn't talk so badly about Trump, he's making good arguments.
