- George Clooney
@space_wrangler @elfunrokr or the sociopathic atheist pretending to be an evangelical
The way that the internet has twisted people's minds to ignore reality is probably the most depressing part of all of it

Former President Donald Trump's cardinal virtues appear to extend to the accumulation of wealth and fame. This is consistent with many non-religious Americans—compared to evangelicals—who tend to find meaning in their lives through finances.
@elfunrokr That’s a tweaked excerpt of what Clooney actually said, during an interview back in 2017. The full quote is better.

Vendía seguros puerta a puerta.

Represent Maysville! 😃
@elfunrokr
I seriously have talked with people that George Clooney should run for President and win the Democratic nomination.
Not likely to happen. But given we're now in a timeline where celebrities without elective office experience can win, he'd be a great choice. Well known and well loved, very intelligent and informed, has done important rights work. Plus he's married to a brilliant human rights lawyer.
George is both too smart to fall for the trap, and too ethical to make the compromises likely necessary to win the election in today's climate. Which is a pity because I expect he'd do a great job.
