@mikematter @daringfireball I get what you’re trying to say, but the Wii U shipped right alongside the 3DS, one of the most popular handhelds ever.

When their sole handheld competitor Sony was shutting down their whole portable line, Nintendo took the lessons learned from the Wii U and 3DS and spun the whole concept *wildly* successfully into the hybrid portable Switch they’re selling now.

I’d say they might have shipped a dud with the Wii U but still didn’t exactly “lose” there.
