It's time for the first installment of #MyWeekInBooks for 2024!
Other than the pictured books, I also read digital copies of:

- The Fireborne Blade (Charlotte Bond)
My favourite was The Brides of High Hill; I almost always love Nghi Vo's work.
Obviously the latter three in that list are ARCs, so thank you Tordotcom for those.

I really loved A City on Mars in particular, very realistic about the likelihood of space settlement in the immediate future.
Last week I did quite a lot of reading, woo. Not pictured because they were ebooks:

- The Tusks of Extinction (Ray Nayler)
My favourite... hmm, maybe Scum Villain vol 2? I don't know, it was a really fun reading week.

My favourite was... hmm, probably The Notebook (Roland Allen), but We Could Be So Good (Cat Sebastian) is up there too.
I was a bit slower with reading last week due to circumstances (aka sending my wife off to attend a family funeral at very short notice), but I did still get some reading done -- the pictured books plus a very forgettable short manga and G.B. Ralph's Murder on Milverton Square.
Favourite read was probably the fourth volume of Scum Villain, let's be honest... but Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries was pretty great too.
Belated post! And yes... I read Scum Villain vol 1 again already, even though I only read it back in November for the first time. So many details I hadn't properly taken on board/understood!

I think again my favourite was the Scum Villain reread -- the other books were interesting, but not exciting in the same way.

My favourite was Crypt, for sure. So glad I had @Ehlyah make a special trip out to get me a copy. Fascinating archaeopathology stuff.
I did not finish a single physical book last week, so no image this time. I did finish:
- A Kiss, For Real vol 1 (Fumie Akuta)
- Don't Call Me Dirty (Gorou Kanbe)
- We Only Kill Each Other (Peter Krause, Ellie Wright, Stephanie Phillips)
- Tell Me The Truth About Life (ed. Cerys Matthews)
I'm hoping to have my reading mojo back soon, but also if the mood isn't there, I shouldn't force it.
Happily, this week was a return to actually feeling like reading for me, so hurrah.

- Mislaid in Parts Half-Known (Seanan McGuire)
Favourite read of the week... probably Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands, though The Walnut Tree was also very, very good.
I read a fair amount this week too, despite my essay deadlines looming. A glimmer of life/work balance, ahaha.

Favourite this week... hm. Well, A Side Character's Love Story is always a bright spot, but I'm not sure there's a single standout this time.
A nice reading week, really! Got some chonky books read. Other than the pictured books, I also read:

- Nick and Charlie (Alice Oseman)
- Navigational Entanglements (Aliette de Bodard)
Favourite... hmm, The Eye of Osiris was a very satisfying mystery, but The Tainted Cup probably pips it to the post.
