climate disruption -> refugees -> conflicts -> strongmen
so goes the prediction. As an exercise...
Assume for the moment we know this will happen (or maybe you think it is happening)...
What can we do to stop each step of this?

@brewsterkahle Set up networks to welcome refugees all over the place so that conflicts are reduced.
Mind you, no good deed goes unpunished. Making things work well so that local people are happy can get you in prison.

@nemobis
Thank you for bringing this example of accepting refugees and integrating them.
We need models, test them, debug them, deploy them.
I dont know much about this one, but thank you for pointing it out:

The small town of Riace, in the southern Italian region of Calabria, was a deserted town before it became a model of integration of migrants. After its transformation from deserted town to success story of integration thanks to refugees and the perseverance of Mayor Domenico Mimmo Lucano, it made headlines when the mayor was placed under house arrest on charges of aiding illegal immigration and irregularities in the assignment of waste collection contracts.
