So, for the third time in as many years, I've been contacted by feds or state law enforcement to let me know some ID thief has been caught with my information on them. The first two times they didn't ask anything of me, but this time a police officer seems to be hinging his case on whether I want to be involved.

The question came: Do you want to pursue criminal charges? I do, because maybe there's a good story there. But I don't, because maybe the juice isn't worth the squeeze. IDK.

Thoughts?

@briankrebs Police voluntarily asking you to press charges indicates they think it is a pretty easy win, I would agree because you want to encourage them taking action. The possibility of getting a story out of it is just a bonus.
