Thanks to @shifttymike my flipper can now open “no touch” sensors at tens of meters distance. It’s not the 100m of his high powered custom built torch but given it works on the base flipper it’s pretty cool.

cc @deviantollam who would be interested in opening doors at a distance maybe.

Here’s a link to his research https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=g8V6AG4Bsew

@singe @shifttymike this is very cool work! Is your project public, too?
@deviantollam @shifttymike he’s submitting to @defcon I think, so it’ll need to be embargoed until accept & present or reject I suspect. But maybe he can share privately? Let me stop speaking for him though - hey Shiftty 👆

@singe
@deviantollam @shifttymike's work is just plain cool to watch, but his story in the video is also a lesson in dealing with slow, jerky, unpredictable progress and the internal brain hurdles we set up for ourselves, and it is exactly what I needed today. Thank you

Dom, where can we get these IR files for download?

@ahasty @shifttymike @deviantollam we submitted to defcon and we’re hoping to release then but got a reject unfortunately. We need to regroup.

Sorry to here.. I started looking into this around January of this year and then found the video from @shifttymike, would love to use this from a flipper in real world test. If you missed defcon it’s time to hit up bsides!
