@VeroniqueB99 Not too sure we're in green territory.
@VeroniqueB99 I also feel like the green color should be more like a yellow green... and a reminder of what reparations are still needed. Coming from someone who used to think 'we fixed it' with my public education.
@alexisdyslexic yeah that'd be a better color...
@VeroniqueB99 really until at least 1965 when Civil Rights passed into federal law.
@VeroniqueB99 now in Australia it’s at least 1967 before Aboriginal rights were acknowledged https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1967_Australian_referendum_(Aboriginals)?wprov=sfti1#

@Transportist Yeah I saw, they clearly are struggling even now.
@Transportist Yeah, it's too bad they didn't put 1965 on there...

@VeroniqueB99

To cover the mouths of all those who talk about the benefits of capitalism...

@VeroniqueB99
For the "green" period, I would add "capitalism", the most perfect form of slavery...
@yoguiignacio good point though it might dilute the message in this case...?
@VeroniqueB99
Sorry, but what message would I be diluting?
@yoguiignacio This graph aims at showing the length of slavery... you put in capitalism, which most people see as a 'good' thing and they stop reading. You lost the message.
@VeroniqueB99
Ok, no problem, it's only my opinion...thank you for your motivation...
@yoguiignacio What is? (I was just explaining, not agreeing)

@VeroniqueB99
What surprises me(as a European) even more is that the Republican Party was founded by an anti-slavery movement. And the Democrats being until recently much more entangled with KKK and the second KKK existed less than 100 years ago.

PS: Also you might want to add an alt text to the image.

@Nickname yup... it's a long story.

Send it to me. I'll include it.

@VeroniqueB99
Sure, I would probably edit the post and add something like this as alt text of the image:
"I feel like this needs to be posted periodically to refresh people's memories."
