This position might get more support in a car-centric society if you rephrase it as: "No pedestrians should be crossing an intersection while vehicles have a green light." #RedLightsForAll

Effectively the same, but different framing.

I live in a country that has no speed limit on highways. It prioritizes cars over human lives, because "freedom". Its whole pride and identity seems to be tied to the production of combustion engines. The legitimacy of political protest is measured by the horsepower it brings to the street. So in this context, if I can trick some heartless cardeologues into agreeing to a sensible policy change that might save my kid's life, I'll gladly do it. #RundumGrün #PedestrianScramble
