what are you going to do when the local sheriffs dept has all that neat hand-me-down tech from the cities in 20 years?
I watched two people I grew up with get murdered by the county because the cops played soldier with miltech. why? because their grandson was RUMORED to have threatened a kid at school with a gun.

@GreenKnight23 @eff @reasonmagazine I understand where you are coming from, and I probably didn't make it clear, I do support their right to privacy. However, there is jack shit all I can do outside of supporting the eff and bringing attention to the topic. This is sanfran after all.
That is a sad story, and I'm sorry to hear about it, but sheriffs getting hand-me-downs from the military (bear cats and the like) aren't exactly the same as city wide surveillance infrastructure and logistics.
