It’s always shocking to me to see so much patriarchy embedded in the relationships of straight non-wingnut people of my own age and younger. Guys who depend on their partners to handle the bulk of fundamentally mutual duties (cooking, cleaning, laundry, childcare, etc.) but who would be ashamed to actually acknowledge that they do so for any but the most pragmatic of reasons. Dads who never seem to need to handle a sick kid or an inconvenient random day of school closure.
