It’s a thin thread they can use to attack a potential popular endorsement of Biden.
Some of them are genuine iterations on the existing meme, but the meme primarily exists to dampen her influence on politics.
That’s a really dumb interpretation. The people who would think lesser of her for her jet travel are distinctly NOT the people who would’ve avoided voting for Biden over Trump or any other R.
It’s not about choosing a candidate, especially with Taylor. It’s about going out to vote or not.
They were fucking terrified that Taylor and Kelce were gonna endorse Biden at the Super Bowl. It’s not a coincidence that the jet thing was picked up at the same time.
I agree, I think it would be pretty foolish to assume there was nobody behind the memes but the people. Here we all are denouncing Swift when she was actually spreading a good message about getting out to vote.
Also her lawyers sent a letter to the person who tracks her flights to stop so that put her even more in the spotlight.

I’m a feminist and left-leaning guy, I’m certainly not gonna go after her for being a woman or for her “politics”* - or appreciate jokes that seek to do so, as people are trying to imply in this case. But trying to avoid the deserved scrutiny of hiding her flight plans is pretty shitty and it’s fair to razz her for it
(* “go vote” is so barely politics it’s not worth truly acknowledging it as such)
I don’t know that anyone deserves having someone tracking all their flights like that. It would be one thing if it was stats to highlight how much she flies. But keeping everyone that easily in the loop of where she is when is a little creepy/stalkerish.
Apparently she recently took a 13 minute flight on her private jet. That’s a pretty bad look.
She might not have even been on the plane. It’s pretty common for private jets to have short flights like that to move them to get serviced.
I don’t understand how some people worship Pop idols and defend them against any criticism, doesn’t matter how many private jets you own if you end up taking the same amount of flights on one jet or three jets. one Private jet is already one too many in the context of combating climate change.
The people defending Swift don’t worship her, they’re just scared she’s being criticized for the wrong reasons. They think everyone calling her a polluter is lying or mistaken about their political motivations, and is actually influenced by misogyny.

I haven’t said anything on the subject before, because I don’t care very much, but I don’t know what the alternative is supposed to be. It’s not like someone who is that famous can walk into a public airplane without putting her own safety at risk and causing trouble for other passengers.
It’s also well known that conservatives really hate her because she told her fans to vote and these memes are part of their effort to discredit her. Whether the point has any merit or not, it’s obvious who started the trend and who it’s helping.
