Dear Phlebotomists:

When your patient's records clearly indicate they often get labs, and have done so since The Dawn of Time (aka as long as your lab has had electronic records), please BELIEVE US when we give you info about getting a successful blood draw.

Neither I nor my veins appreciate being stirred like a pot of boiling soup after multiple pokes because indeed, my awesome-looking veins are to #phlebotomists as #Neo is to bullets.

@likelyjanlukas Yeah, I don't make it optional. They will take from my left arm only or they won't be doing it at all. I am not their pin cushion and don't deserve to be tortured so they can satisfy their curiosity/ego. And if they kick up a stink I will complain to their boss. But I have found just speaking firmly like they have no option tends to be enough.

She did draw from the correct area--I have very limited places that are safe to puncture without risk of complications.

But … she just didn't listen/believe me aboit the rolling veins.

Funny how those who don't believe it always manage to get the full Neo experience. 🙄

… and seriously, I've never tried to take blood from anyone in my life, so perhaps the fact that it is literally *decades* of her colleagues informing me of this should matter? Sigh.
