Bennett Foddyhow's everyone feeling about Simplygon jumping from 0 to $35k per year?
Ethan Clark@bfod Honestly, it seems like what they're selling is more useful for big studios anyway. Unless their algorithms are worth $35k more than Blender (which is free,) most of the value is probably how it integrates into complicated pipelines.
@EthanIClark1 yeah apples and oranges, I’m afraid. I use blender decimation but it’s not remotely the same thing. And we do have a complicated pipeline! It’s not worth anything like $35k/year but not replaceable with Blender or OSS options
