The Florida man who fatally shot a gay dog owner earlier this month at a Tampa area park has still not been arrested. The shooter claims he acted in self-defense, but friends say he had been harassing the victim, 52-year-old John Walter Lay, for months with threats and homophobic slurs.

@kevinrns @muiren , the police have gone to the SCOTUS to argue that they have absolutely no responsibility to protect people. Warren v. District of Columbia, 1981.

With that in mind, plan on protecting yourself from this murderer.

@gavinisdie @kevinrns @muiren agreed. But anarchy isn't what the rich have sold us. It can be beauty, and peace. We have been told it is violence, and we need the rich to protect us from ourselves. That all the "others" are dangerous.

The 2nd time today I have recommended this, but if you fear anarchy, read Kropotkins' "Mutual Aid".

@muiren Florida is a fascist state. This is state condoned murder. It’s a wink and a nod that you can kill the states enemies and not face punishment. Make no mistake, as things get worse the “state guard” or another “unofficial”paramilitary group will be doing this directly with more frequency.

@muiren I can't say i'm shocked this is a Florida incident, it is sad all the same and should be punished.

The same state who's governor opted out of colleges teaching critical thinking skills as part of their curriculum under the premise of it saving tax dollars.
