You can be both.
@MeanwhileinCanada
Since the Palestinians are a Semitic people, this should really be a perfect circle.
@MeanwhileinCanada @AnnieBuddy And I'd say that the overlap is pretty substantial. There is only a tiny fringe at each side that thinks it's cool to subjugate some people but not others.

@UrbanEdm I’m afraid these days in Israel the majority is for very extreme response and continuation of the massacre at any cost. Consider that in the last 20th years the liberal left shrank to almost nothing and after October 7th even what’s left are not able to contain the rage and insult. Most Israelis don’t even think they’re occupying someone else’s homeland.

@MeanwhileinCanada @AnnieBuddy

@MeanwhileinCanada this misses the third circle: against the religious oppression and genocidal actions by Hamas.

Though whether there’s a genocide of Palestinians will be investigated by the International Court of Justice, so I wouldn’t make claims about that at the moment.

@ArneBab

Although I do not doubt a second neither the oppression of Palestinian people and the fact that Hamas committed a horrible massacre on 7th October: Do you notice how biased your perspective is?
You don't hesitate to make a claim about "genocidal actions" by Hamas, but when somebody says the same about Israel, you argue that this should be determined by the ICJ ?

@MeanwhileinCanada

@earthworm Hamas wrote in their founding documents that they want to slay every Jew. Their goal is a genocide.

What they wrote in their founding documents:

> The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him

(which is *not* part of Koran, by the way)

Article Seven of the Charta of Hamas: https://avalon.law.yale.edu/20th_century/hamas.asp

There is no question about the intention of Hamas to commit genocide. If they had the means, they’d kill all jews.

@MeanwhileinCanada definitely! And be informed and open to listen 🩵
@MeanwhileinCanada Gaza is a Ghetto. But there is no genocide against palestinians. Palestinians are not systematically massacred. At least not by Israel. It is other Palestinians - Hamas - who inflict the greatest suffering upon their own. By intentionally waging a war where all combatants are disguised as civilians mingling among civilians. Wanting civilians to die as "martyrs" to increase the hate against Israel.
But Netanjahu also does not want a solution to save himself from prison.
@rogerhaase @MeanwhileinCanada The IDF treats all Palestinian civilians as immediate threats and shoot them dead even when they're surrendering. Remember when they accidentally killed Israelis who were waving a white surrender flag? The IDF killed them because they thought they were Palestinians. They don't consider Palestinians to be people, they're just animals that need to be put down. Yes, Hamas is terrible, but don't say there's no genocide.
@rogerhaase @MeanwhileinCanada “There is no genocide against Palestinians by Israel” was really dubious before last October and it’s extremely dubious now with more than 30,000 people killed in 4 months and all of Gaza at risk of famine from blockades.
@MeanwhileinCanada
The pastel colors are great for those who need this concept broken to the gently.
@MeanwhileinCanada hey, is this really occupation? Is this really genocide? Think twice please.
