I just caught a quick glimpse of the coyote running gleefully through the fresh snow, but she left her tracks running madly off to the right, around the trees and then to the left, then straight down the trail beyond the fence. What fun! One of my favorite memories of Boulder, Colorado, winters.

@CatherineBabault Coyotes are pretty bold in Boulder. There are even coyote patrols of people shaking cans and pinging them with (something harmless but somewhat painful) to keep the coyotes from getting too audacious. I don't see very many here, but I'll bet they're just more canny

@carolannie They had problems with coyotes in Stanley Park, in Vancouver, because some people were feeding them. Consequently the coyotes became bolder and agressive towards people. A large part of the pack had to be euthanized and at least one person got a hefty fine. Never a good idea to feed wildlife. I think it's a good idea to have patrols and keep wildlife wild.
