I'd have been an anarchist decades ago rather than years ago if, at those parties back in the day, the "anarchists" I knew had just spent more time articulating actual anarchism as opposed to wasting time trashing my well-intentioned socialism while showing off their cool and edgy football shirts with some obscure anarchist name on the back that meant nothing to me.
I guess nobody explained to them that it's, y'know, actually against anarchism to remain a tiny little club where you can namedrop fucking Bakunin and Kropotkin; we want an entire anarchist world - and that's a pretty easy pitch when it's explained in simple contemporary terms, since all humans are essentially inherently anarchists at heart.
