If cars with radio key-fobs are easier to steal than cars with traditional *physical* (ignition) locks I don't think the thieves (or available tools) are really the problem, but the technical implementation is.

"Ease of use" comes at the cost of some security.

Reducing the availability of certain tools will not increase security *at all*.
