On today’s episode of #JustHowAshkenazi : What do I do with leftover dinosaur paws? Do I dehydrate them and turn them into #BabaYagaCore earrings?
@chaoticmitzvah

50 years ago, in Israel, I would buy a live chicken, the shochet was right inside the store, he shected the chicken & they plucked & gutted it, then kashered it while I watched (or I could take it home & kasher it myself) but after doing that once I decided to let the professionals deal with it.

Anyway those "dino claws" went into the chicken soup. Oh did I mention the part about cleaning them? Not worth it, unless of course you can buy them already cleaned. Chicken feet are just as dirty as chicken assholes.
@yiddishwordoftheday @chaoticmitzvah That’s why I use the carribean method of boiling my scrubbed & pedicured feet with lemon for an hour and then discarding all of the water, then scrubbing again, before I start.

@chaoticmitzvah

When I was in first, maybe second grade, in the early 80s, I came home and the house smelled wonderful of chicken soup.

I asked my mother what we were having for dinner and she said "Come here", beckoning me to the stove.

"We're having E.T...." she said as she ladled up one of these to the surface, and it slowly sank back down.

@serge @chaoticmitzvah :grabs popcorn: Were you traumatized for life or did you love it?
