If you haven't browsed PeerTube lately, you might want to try it again, as the content now is much more diverse and interesting than it has ever been.

I've made a site where you can easily and safely browse the good stuff on PeerTube at https://fedi.video

I also run an account which boosts nice PeerTube videos several times a day at @FediVideo and there's a long thread pinned there full of good PeerTube accounts to follow (https://social.growyourown.services/@FediVideo/111749782236394092).

PeerTube used to be just lots of Linux videos, but it's way more than that now. Would definitely recommend having another look.

Highlighting the most interesting content on PeerTube, and uploading PD and CC videos too. Bigotry and conspiracy theories are forbidden.

@FediThing @FediVideo That's a really great site! Thanks!
@FediThing @FediVideo Are there any mobile apps yet? (Sorry - am a peertube noob!)

@freequaybuoy

It depends on what you want to do. You can follow and interact with PeerTube accounts entirely from Mastodon, so you could use any Mastodon app for that.

If you want to upload videos or create playlists on PeerTube, you would need a PeerTube app, which would include Fedilab (the Mastodon app also has a dedicated PeerTube mode) or Newpipe. You can also use the PeerTube web app.

There's a beginner's guide to about everything to do with PeerTube here:

@FediVideo Thanks very much! I've become addicted to using YouTube to fall asleep to, so either from the app on my TV or iPhone. Since the adverts became insane am desperately seeking alternatives. I have subscriptions to Curiosity Stream and Nebula, but they don't quite fill the gap. So, for me it's just to watch, and apps make that much easier - but I'm being mega lazy! And yes, maybe I can just use ToooT for it...

@freequaybuoy

Ahh, that's a good point, you can't watch playlists from Mastodon.

If you're wanting to watch several videos in a row automatically, you would have to be watching the videos on PeerTube itself to do that.
