@Pepijn @xkcd good question - and maybe she didn't , so the guys featured in the XKCD deserve recognition for that... However, I find it sad that this was *AGAIN* a missed opportunity to promote a woman scientist, on such a popular "blog" .

@becha @xkcd Ah, sorry. I didn't realize it was about the angle of the person. For me the bit about it being linked to our industrial actions is what matters as that is what the ongoing debate on "when did we know" is about.

@xkcd Fun fact: Arrhenius didn't see the greenhouse effect as something negative:

"By the influence of the increasing percentage of carbonic acid in the atmosphere, we may hope to enjoy ages with more equable and better climates, especially as regards the colder regions of the earth, ages when the earth will bring forth much more abundant crops than at present, for the benefit of rapidly propagating mankind."

@xkcd @Selena Now guess when we figured out that SARS has airborne transmission, tobacco causes cancer, school standardized testing is counterproductive, a 4-day work week is more efficient, UBI is a net positive with nearly instant ROI, etc but were just like “but i’d rather not wear a mask, smoke, have fun reports for the mayor, punish my colleagues, and fuck over the poor for funsies?”
